From first message to green light — six steps
Tell us what you're making
Email or WhatsApp your idea — a sketch, a logo, a reference photo or just a mood. We reply within 2 hours with the questions that matter: materials, quantity, deadline and budget per set.
A rendered proof of every face
Our in-house designers model all faces in 3D — numerals, logo placement, colours — and send a rendered proof before any tooling is cut. Unlimited minor revisions until it looks right.
Honest, itemised pricing
You get a unit price per material, the one-time mold cost if your design needs new tooling ($600–$2,000, refunded as reorders accumulate), sample cost and freight options — nothing hidden.
Hold it before you commit
Existing-design samples ship within a week; full-custom pre-production samples take 3–10 days depending on material. Sample cost is refunded against your first order.
Simple, protected terms
50% deposit to start, balance before shipment — by T/T bank transfer, PayPal, Alipay/WeChat Pay or Alibaba Trade Assurance. NDA available; client molds and designs are never resold.
Production begins
Once the pre-production sample is approved, mass production starts — 10–30 days depending on material and volume, with photo updates from the floor as your run progresses.
Light custom vs full custom — the honest timetable
Two ways to order custom dice at YSDICE. Light custom (ODM) reruns one of our 450+ existing molds in your colours, effects and laser-engraved logo — no tooling fee. Full custom (OEM) cuts a brand-new mold to your drawings: your shapes, faces, fonts and sizes, exclusively yours. These are the real working timelines we quote, material by material.

Sample costs are refunded against your production order. Metal dice are always plated fresh to the order — we keep no plated stock, so finishes arrive bright, never shelf-aged.
What a YSDICE quote is made of
Unit price
Driven by material, size, edge profile and finish — plating and enamel fill on metal dice, inclusions and cores on resin. Inclusion designs carry a higher casting reject rate (20–30% vs ~5% plain), and we price that in up front instead of renegotiating mid-run.
Tooling — full custom only
A new steel mold is a one-time line item quoted before you commit, and it is refunded progressively on reorders. Light custom orders on existing molds never pay tooling. Your mold is never used for anyone else — written into the contract.
Sample & proof
The 3D rendered proof of every face is free and arrives within 3 days. Physical samples are quoted at cost and refunded against the production order — you are never paying twice for the same dice.
Freight, stated plainly
Most clients take DDP door-to-door: one landed price, duties included. EXW and FOB are available if you run your own forwarder. Express for samples, air or sea for volume — matched to your deadline, not ours.
What we can work from
You do not need production-ready files to get a real quote for a custom DND dice set. These are the inputs we turn into dice every week, roughly in order of how often they arrive.
A photo or a competitor reference
“Like this, but in our colours” is a complete brief. We identify the material and edge profile from the photo, match the nearest existing mold, and send a rendered recolour — usually the fastest route to a light custom (ODM) order.
A sketch — even a napkin one
A client once sketched cheese dice: holes, drips, a cheese-wedge d4. We modelled every face in 3D, cut the mold and cast them. Hand drawings are enough for full custom (OEM) work; our engineers handle the geometry, balance and font spacing.
Logo files & brand colours
Vector (AI/SVG/PDF) is ideal for laser engraving and enamel fill; a clean PNG works for most marks. Give us Pantone references or even a phone photo of your brand swatch — colour matching is checked at the sample stage, before anything mass-produces.
Full 3D files
STL or STEP files go straight to mold engineering. We check draft angles, wall thickness and number placement for fairness, flag anything that will not cast cleanly, and quote tooling from the actual geometry.
