Our Process

Dice Manufacture

Metal, sharp edge resin, rounded resin, acrylic, plus gemstone, silicone and wood — materials can be mixed in a single order with matching fonts across every line. Factory visits and third-party audits are always welcome.

How dice get made

Seven crafts, one factory floor

These are our actual production routings — the same internal process sheets our bench supervisors work to. Batch records are kept for raw-material lot, ambient temperature and humidity, mix ratio, degassing result, mold cleanliness, core moisture, cure state and finished dimensions.

Metal Dice

Zinc alloy — die-cast

Zinc alloy goes in as ingots and comes out as dice with real heft. The mold is CNC-cut steel; molten alloy is die-cast under pressure, sprues are clipped, and every die is tumble-deburred before plating. Because plating oxidises on a shelf, we run this line strictly to order — your finish is electroplated days before it ships, never months. Enamel numbers are filled by hand at the bench, one face at a time.

Sharp Edge Resin

Epoxy A/B — cast in high-precision molds

Epoxy A/B resin is mixed, pigmented and poured into high-precision silicone molds pulled from a printed or CNC master. A vacuum chamber strips the bubbles before cure — the difference between glass-clear and cloudy. After demolding, each face is lapped flat so corners stay knife-crisp, then the logo is laser-marked and every single die passes piece-by-piece inspection. This is the slowest line per die, and the one collectors ask for by name.

  1. Design confirmation
  2. High-precision master (3D print / CNC)
  3. Silicone mold casting
  4. A/B resin weighing on calibrated scales
  5. Colouring & vacuum degassing
  6. Pouring from the lowest point
  7. Pressure curing
  8. Demold & post-cure
  9. Sprue & flash removal
  10. Face-by-face flat lapping
  11. Fine polishing
  12. Number paint fill
  13. QC inspection
  14. 7-piece set matching & packing

Sharp corners and edge lines are formed by the mold itself — never tumbled, or they would round off. Sample 3–5 days · bulk 10–15 days.

Rounded Resin

Unsaturated polyester — cast & tumbled

Unsaturated polyester resin is tinted, catalysed and poured across gang molds on the casting benches — the highest-volume resin line on the floor. Cured blanks go into tumbling drums where edges round off gradually against media, then bottoms are ground true, numbers are point-painted by machine and hand together, and the run is laser-marked and inspected before bagging. It is the workhorse line: durable, colour-saturated and friendlier on price than sharp edge.

  1. Design confirmation
  2. Silicone mold prep
  3. Resin colour mixing (MEKP added last)
  4. Vacuum degassing
  5. Pouring / core placement
  6. Room-temperature cure
  7. Demold & post-cure
  8. Sprue removal
  9. Coarse tumbling & chamfering
  10. Medium & fine grinding
  11. Fine polishing
  12. Number paint fill
  13. Cleaning & QC
  14. 7-piece set matching & packing

The rounded profile is built in the tumbling stages, not the mold — that is the core difference from sharp edge. Sample 7–10 days · bulk 25–30 days.

Silicone Dice

Food-grade LSR — compression molded

Food-grade liquid silicone is pigmented, compression-molded and post-cured for a bounce that lands table-quiet — the line we recommend for family games, classrooms and 50mm giants. Numbers are debossed in the tool itself and pad-printed, so they cannot chip off the way surface paint can.

  1. Liquid silicone colouring
  2. Compression molding
  3. Post-cure setting
  4. Pad-printed or in-mold debossed numbers
  5. Soft-touch coating on 50mm giants

Acrylic Dice

Injection molded — volume friendly

Acrylic is the volume line: multi-shot colour mixes are injection-molded, tumble-polished, spray-filled and sealed with a UV top-coat. Once the shot is dialled in, piece ten thousand matches piece ten — which is why publishers choose this line when a dice set ships inside every retail box.

  1. Colour mixing (multi-shot blends)
  2. Injection molding
  3. Tumble polishing
  4. Number spray & wipe
  5. UV top-coat
  6. QC
  7. Packing

Wooden Dice

Engraved hardwood

Kiln-dried hardwood is CNC-machined, hand-sanded and laser-engraved — carved from solid stock rather than formed in a cavity. No mold exists to amortise, which is why wooden dice can start at quantities no molded product could justify, and why no two sets share the same grain.

  1. Timber selection & kiln drying
  2. CNC cutting
  3. Hand sanding
  4. Laser engraving — numbers / logo
  5. Wood-wax oil finish
  6. QC
  7. Packing

Engraving and finish customisation from just a few sets.

Gemstone Dice

Hand-ground natural stone

Natural stone blanks are cut, then ground face by face on diamond wheels and engraved by hand — no mold, no casting, just subtraction. Every gemstone die is inspected individually; at this value per piece, sorting by eye would be the wrong tool.

  1. Stone selection & blank cutting
  2. Diamond-wheel grinding, face by face
  3. Number engraving
  4. Gold fill
  5. Polishing
  6. QC
  7. Packing

No mold needed — sample 5–7 days · bulk 15–20 days, from just 2 sets.
