What dice materials do you make?

Six lines, all in-house: die-cast metal (zinc alloy), sharp-edge resin, rounded resin & liquid core, injection acrylic, plus silicone, wood and hand-carved gemstone. You can mix materials in one order with matching fonts and logos, and we also make dice boxes, bags and trays.

What's the real minimum order?

Full custom with a new mold: from 100 sets for metal, sharp edge and rounded resin (acrylic from 500). Light customisation — your colours and logo on our existing molds — from just 10 sets. Factory in-stock: mix any materials from 2–10 sets per colour (gemstone & wood 2, sharp edge / rounded / silicone 5, acrylic 10). Metal dice are always made fresh to order, so plating arrives bright — never shelf-aged. Prefer value over piece count? A mixed-material stock order clears at a $500 combined minimum (freight excluded).

Can you print our logo, faces and edition numbers?

Yes. Custom faces, fonts, logos and edition numbers are engraved into the mold for full custom, or laser-engraved onto our stock molds with no tooling fee. Enamel fill is colour-matched to your brand across the whole set.

Question 4

How much does a custom mold cost?

Accepted Answer

A steel mold runs $600–$2,000 depending on shape and detail, quoted up front as a one-time line item — and refunded as your reorder volume accumulates. Gemstone dice need no mold at all, and light customisation on our stock molds carries no tooling fee.

Do you support Kickstarter timelines?

Accepted Answer

Yes — samples and photography before launch, tooling held ready, production starts when your pledge manager locks. We ship direct to fulfilment hubs worldwide.

Can I get samples first?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Existing-design samples ship within a week, cost refunded against your first order. Custom orders always include a pre-production sample before mass production begins.

How long does production take?

Light customisation on our molds: samples in 3–10 days, production 10–30 days depending on material. Full custom: add 15–25 days for mold cutting. A typical full-custom metal run is 20–25 days for the mold, 3–5 days for your sample, then 20–25 days for mass production.

How do you protect our design and IP?

Client molds and designs are never resold and never appear in our own retail store — it's written into the contract, and an NDA is available on request. We're a factory, not a competitor: our Maywinflow store carries only our own stock designs.

Question 9

What about shipping and duties?

Accepted Answer

EXW, FOB or DDP — most clients pick DDP, where we handle freight and duties and the price you see is landed at your warehouse. Express (DHL / FedEx / UPS) for samples and small runs, sea freight for volume.

How do payments work?

50% deposit to start, balance before shipment. We accept T/T bank transfer, PayPal, Alipay / WeChat Pay and Alibaba Trade Assurance.

Do you sell single retail sets, or only wholesale?

Both. Wholesale and full custom run direct through the factory; single retail sets ship worldwide from our Maywinflow store. Not sure which fits? Email us and we'll point you the right way.

Under 100 sets — what are my options?

Accepted Answer

Factory in-stock from 2–10 sets per colour, singles worldwide at our retail store Maywinflow, or just email queenie@ysdice.com — we take small orders directly.

What files do you need for a quote?

Accepted Answer

Anything from a napkin sketch to full vector art. Ideal: your logo as SVG/AI, reference photos, target material and quantity. We rebuild everything in 3D anyway, so rough is fine — the free rendered proof shows every face before you commit.

Question 14

Can you match our Pantone colours?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Enamel fills, resin pours and packaging are matched to Pantone references and locked in the pre-production sample, so run two looks like run one.

Do you also make dice boxes, bags and trays?

Accepted Answer

Yes — wooden and metal boxes, PU and velvet bags, and folding dice trays, all brandable with your logo so the whole set ships retail-ready from one factory.

Can we visit the factory?

Any time. We're in Chang'an, Dongguan — about an hour from Shenzhen. Audits are welcome too; YSDICE is the brand of Dongguan Yushun Hardware Co., Ltd., a registered manufacturer since 2018.

Why don't you keep metal dice in stock?

Accepted Answer

Because a plated surface has a shelf life. Metal dice are die-cast zinc alloy finished by electroplating — mirror gold, antique bronze, gunmetal, rainbow — and the brighter finishes dull, spot or tarnish as they sit in a box, faster in Dongguan's humidity. A tray plated six months ago no longer matches the swatch you approved. So YSDICE plates metal to the order, never to a shelf: plating, enamel fill and bake all happen inside your production run, and the colour in your photo report is the colour that reaches your warehouse. That is why metal carries a lead time instead of a stock number — and why the set you receive still looks like the sample you signed off.

What qualifies an order as factory stock?

Two conditions, and you can mix materials and colours to meet both. First, the order clears US$500 combined, freight excluded. Second, every colour meets its own per-colour minimum: sharp-edge resin 5 sets, rounded resin 5 sets, silicone 5 sets, acrylic 10 sets, gemstone 2 sets and wood 2 sets. Metal is deliberately not stocked — it is plated fresh to each order so the finish arrives bright. A stock order skips tooling and pre-production sampling entirely, which is why it ships in days rather than weeks; if your quantities fall short, light customisation on our existing molds starts at 10 sets and still carries no tooling fee.

Question 19

Why do dice with figures or cores inside cost more?

Because we cast more of them than you order. A plain rounded resin die runs at roughly a 5% reject rate. Once an inclusion goes inside — an animal, a figure, a sealed core — that climbs to 20–30%, because the core is machined in-house to a tight fit and its placement depends on the caster's hand and timing. For every 100 good sets we may pour 125–140. That is the honest reason for the unit price and the longer lead time, and we quote it in from the start rather than discovering it halfway through a run.
